YOUseries battery

The YOUseries battery is a rechargable Lithium Ion battery manufactured by Bosch.

On the product page Bosch does not list specifications like model number, voltage, weight and capacity. Bosch simply calls it "YOUseries battery". Some web shops list it with manufacturer code 1600A01D05.

The battery housing is made out of black plastic with a cyclindrical shape with a keyed flat protrusion along the back side with five recessed electrical contacts with the two bigger ones towards the middle marked as plus and minus.

The shape and capacity indicate that there is a single 21500 Lithium Ion cell inside.

On the bottom there is a plastic bottom cover with latches on each side to hold the battery in the tool body. The latches have to be pushed inwards to remove the battery.

There is a green LED on the back of the bottom which Bosch describes as a charge level indicator with motion sensor but it is unclear what kind of motion it senses or how the charge level is indicated.

On the bottom of the battery there is a USB-C port under a door which can be used to charge the battery. Charging takes about 3 hours. The battery can be charged while inserted, or removed from a tool body.

The battery comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable but does come with a charger that plugs directly in a mains outlet.
