GDS 18V-300 impact wrench
The GDS 18V-300 is a cordless impact wrench manufactured by Bosch as part of the Bosch Professional product line.
The machine has a brushless electric motor that is powered by a 18 volt battery.
With a maximum torque of 300 Nm for tightening it is suitable for screws with a thread diameter from M10 to M18.
Exterior
The tool has a blue plastic housing with some black rubber on the side and back of he handle for improved grip and some edges around the motor housing to act as bumpers
The handle is placed in the middle under the motor for better tool balance.
The battery slides in from the front under the handle and there is an optional metal belt hook attached to the side with a screw.
At the bottom of the handle is a membrane button for the Auto Bolt Release function and an indicator LED next to it to indicate its status.
At the back there is the ability to attach an optional wrist strap to catch the machine if it would fall.
The handle has a red trigger and a red rotation direction switch on each side above it. The motor housing had some horizontal ventilation slits behind these switches and near the back
In front of the motor housing is an aluminum hammer case with the back half of it covered in black rubber.
Just below the hammer case is a white LED work light. The LED will automatically turn on. Around the LED are some membrane buttons with indicator LEDs to change the work mode.
At the very front there is the 1/2" square drive on which sockets can be attached. The driver has a friction ring and pin detent to prevent sockets from falling off.
Operation
The machine is activated by pressing the variable speed trigger switch. The push button above it can be used to reverse the turning direction or as a trigger lock when the button is centered.
On the bottom of the handle there is membrane button to activate the Auto Bolt Release (ABR) function. When enabled the machine will automatically shut down when it senses less resistance which indicate that the nut is loose and prevents it from falling out.
