GBH 36 V-EC cordless rotary hammer

The GBH 36 V-EC  is a compact cordless rotary hammer from Bosch Professional.

The machine has a brushless electric motor powered by a 36 volt battery.

Despite the size of the battery the machine is relatively compact and significantly lighter than the GBH 36 V-LI Plus, but lacks some of its power and a dedicated chiseling setting.

An optional keyless chuck is available for this machine in order to use use regular drill bits.

Exterior

The machine has a blue plastic body with black parts and the controls have red accents. The machine has a handle placed under the motor.

The back of the housing and handle is connected through a flexible joints to reduce vibrations being transferred from the front to the back.

On front of the handle is a red trigger switch to activate the machine. Above that is red push button on each side to reverse the turning direction.

The battery is inserted from the front and has a red release button above it. Although the manual does not specify this, the auxiliary handle can be in the way of the battery and might have to be moved to remove the battery.

Towards the top on the front is a  black gearbox with a mode dial on the left side to select the work mode. In front of that is a collar with an auxiliary handle and a depth gauge.

At the very front is a detachable SDS Plus chuck in which drills are inserted.
