DR 20 E FF-Plus corded drill

Drilling & fastening Drill Corded electric tools

The QUADRILL DR 20 E FF-Plus is a large corded handheld drill manufactured by Festool. It is the successor of the DR 20 E.

The machine has a powerful 1100 watt motor making it suitable for drilling large holes.

The machine has Festool's typical dark blue plastic housing with bare metal on the front.

The machine is activated with the green variable speed trigger switch. A black round dial on the trigger is visible in the pictures but the manual does not mention it and states that the speed of the machine depends how far the trigger is pressed in.

The rotation direction can be changed with a switch at the top of the trigger switch.

Behind the trigger witch there is a round green button which is not mentioned in the user manual but typicaly served as a lock on switch to keep the machine running without needing to hold the trigger switch.

The machine comes with a removable and rotatable telescopic side handle. By loosening a knob just above the grip the grip can be pulled down to make the side handle longer. On the handle is also a depth gauge which is bent to allow more flexible positioning by turning it.

The machine comes with a detachable keyed chuck. When the chuck is detached a hex shank allows any 1/4" hex bit or drill bit to be inserted directly. Festool also has various other chucks and adapters available that fit on there.

Unlike many other power tools from Festool the power cord is not removable.
