BE 850-2 keyless corded drill

Corded electric tools Drill Drilling & fastening

The BE 850 is an electric corded drill manufactured by Metabo. It has an enormous maximum torque of 75 Nm making it suitable for drilling large holes. But the low maximum RPM makes it slow for drilling small holes.

The drill has a green plastic body with red and black accents. For improved grip the back and top are covered in black rubber.

The machine is activated with a red trigger switch on the handle. On the trigger there is a black dial for setting the maximum RPM.

Behind the trigger switch is a red round lock on button to keep the machine turning without needing to hold down the trigger.

Above the lock on button is a slding switch that reverses the direction of rotation and also adjust the position of the brushes so that the motor can output the same amount of power in both directions.

On the front of the machine there is a two speed gearbox with a plain cast aluminium exterior. On the side there is a large black knob to switch between low and high gear.

A black rotatable side handle is clamped around the front.

The metal chuck is keyless and can be detached. On the body of the machine is a hex shank chuck that allows 1/4" hex bits to be inserted directly.

The machine has a safety clutch that will mechanically disengage the drive when too much torque is applied.

Metabo does not list this model on their English language websites for UK and USA, but it is available in other European countries.
