WEV 15-150 HT 150mm variable speed angle grinder

The WEV 15-150 HT is a corded electric angle grinder for 150 mm discs manufactured by Metabo. The "HT" suffix stands for "High Torque" which makes more suited for working on stone than metal. Its maximum RPM is lower than most other grinders.

The machine is activated using a red slide switch the side of the body. For additional saftety The machine will not turn on if the switch is in the "on" position while the power is being connected. The switch has to be moved to the "off" position first before it can be turned on.

The plastic motor housing is Metabo's signature green color with an aluminium head.

The head has a a black spindle lock button on top and a vibration dampening side handle can be attached on either side. Holes blow air that was sucked in from the back to cool the motor.

On the back of the body is a dial where the maximum desired RPM can be set.

The disc guard can fit up to 150 mm discs and can be rotated and locked into place without any tools.

There is a mechanical saftety clutch that wil disengage the gears to pevent kick back.

The RPM is electronically controlled meaning that the machine will increase the power output when more pressure is applied to prevent the RPM from dropping.

The motor is part of Metabo's "Marathon" range and is air cooled to allow it to run for long periods of time without overheating. Metabo uses a patented dust protection system to prevent dust from being sucked in and damaging the motor.
