Cordless M18 M12

The 48-59-1807 is a six port battery charger for M12 and M18 batteries manufactured by Milwaukee. Milwaukee calls it a "Rapid charge station".

The charger can charge up to three batteries simultaneously. The charger contains electronics that communicates with the electronics inside the batteries to optimize charging speed while limiting the wear on the battery.

Milwaukee doe not specify the weight and cord length on their website.

Exterior

The charger has a red plastic body which vaguely resembles the shape of a briefcase with an integrated handle that has a black rubberized grip area in the middle.

The charger has a black plastic base which extends a bit around the charger to provide a more stable base. On the side of the base are wall mount indicators to help position the distance between two screws to mount it on a wall.

The bottom has two metal screw mounts for wall mounting and a lot of ventilation slits. The power cord can be guided in the bottom to com out on the back side.

At the front is a lower part of the body with three receptacles in which M12 batteries can be inserted upside down from above.

On the back side there are three receptacles for M18 batteries which slide in from above too but hang from the back side.

Behind each battery and on corners of the housing there are ventilation slits to help the charger shed heat.

On the top there is a red and green indicator light behind each receptacle with the following indicator statuses:

  • Solid red: battery is charging.
  • Solid green: battery is charger.
  • Slow flashing red: battery is waiting to be charged when another one is done
  • Fast flashing red: battery is too hot or cold, will resume charging when temperature normalizes.
  • Flashing red and green: battery is faulty or damaged and will not be charged.

The black power cord is permanently attached and has an ungrounded passthrough plug on which another ungrounded plug can be inserted.
