GKS 12V-26 85mm cordless circular saw
The GKS 12V-26 is a cordless handheld circular saw manufactured by Bosch as part of the Bosch Professional product line.
The machine has a brushed electric motor that is powered by a 12V Max battery. With a 85mm diameter saw blade it can make cuts up to 26,5 mm deep.
Availability
This product was previously available under the name GKS 10,8 V-LI but was renamed in 2017 to its current name.
In 2021 this product was not listed on Bosch USA's website. It was listed on other regional websites.
Exterior
The machine has a blue plastic housing with a black rubberized horizontal pistol grip handle where an 12V max battery is inserted in the back.
At the bottom of the handle is a red trigger and lock off button on the side. Below that is a battery charge indicator consisting out of three green LEDs and a LED that indicates when the overload protection is activated.
In front of the handle is the barrel shaped motor housing that extends on the left side. On the right side is a spindle with a diameter of 15 mm on which a saw blade of up to 85 mm can be attached.
The top of the saw blade is encased in a blank aluminium guard. It has a white LED at the front to illuminate the working area. On the back there is a black plastic wingnut used to adjust the cutting depth.
A black retractable blade guard surrounds the bottom of the saw blade. It automatically retracts when the saw is pushed forward while making a cut.
The base is made out of stamped steel and has a black wingnut in front to adjust the angle of the saw up to 45°.
The base can be attached to a guide to trace along the side of a work piece or with an adapter can be fitted on a Bosch FSN guide rail.
An optional dust extraction kit contains a vacuum adapter which can be mounted on the base at the front on the left side of the wheel guard.
Operation
The machine is activated by pushing the red trigger switch on the underside of the handle. In front of it is a lock off button on each side that can be pushed to lock the trigger in the off position to prevent accidental activation.
