Bosch Professional 12V Max
36 products
The Bosch 12V Max is a battery system for Bosch Professional tools.
The battery packs contain three 3.6 volt Lithium Ion cells placed in series which adds up to a nominal voltage of 10.8 volts. When fully charged the voltage can reach up to 12 volts. This behavior is normal for all Lithium Ion battery packs from all manufacturers.
In 2017 the battery system was globally renamed from 10.8 volt to "12 volt max". Before that Bosch already used the 12 volt designation in North America.
Some high capacity battery packs contain two sets of three cells connected for longer battery life. These battery packs have a physically larger size to fit the extra cells and are also heavier.
Compatibility
As a result many of the tools in the 10.8 volt battery system were also renamed, but remain otherwise the same and are fully compatible with each other.
The batteries have the same connection as 12 volt "Power for all" and older 10.8 volt batteries from Bosch Home & Garden product line and Dremel and Skil branded tools up to year 2016 when Bosch owned the brand. This means the batteries can be charged using the chargers.
The plastic tabs on the bottom are however shaped differently which means they do not fit in machine bodies unless the tabs are replaced or modified.
