GDR 120-LI impact driver

12V Max Cordless Drilling & fastening Impact driver

The GDS 120-LI is a cordless impact driver manufactured by Bosch as part of the Bosch Professional product line.

The machine has a brushed electric motor powered by a 12 volt battery.

Availability

In 2021 this machine was not listed on most of Bosch's regional websites in Europe and North America where the GDR 12V-105 and GDR 12V-110 are the only 12V impact drivers for several years.

The GDS 120-LI is however still listed and marketed in regions like Africa and Asia and has therefore not yet been marked as discontinued.

Exterior

The machine has a dark blue plastic housing with black rubberized parts mainly on the handle and back of the motor housing. The buttons and are red, like the Bosch logo on the side of the motor housing.

A 12V max battery is inserted in the bottom of the handle. At the front of the handle is a red trigger switch.

Above the trigger switch is red push button on each side to reverse the turning direction. In front of that is a small white LED that illuminates the working area.

At the front there is a black hammer case attached with four screws. On front on the center is a black 1/4" hex bit holder.

This machine does not have a battery charge indicator.

Operation

The machine is activated by pulling the red variable speed trigger switch. The turning direction can be reversed with red push button above it.

On top of the motor housing is a slide switch to toggle between low (1300 RPM) and high (2600 RPM) gear. According to the user manual the low gear should be used fro driving screws and drilling large diameter holes. The high gear can be used to drill small diameter holes faster.

On activation the three white LEDs below the hammer case will light.

The bit can be removed by pulling the sleeve around the bit holder forward.
