DP4000K high torque drill
The DP4000K is a low speed high torque speed electric drill manufactured by Makita.
With a maximum RPM of 900 and a 750 watt motor this "low speed" drill particularly suitable fordrilling large holes. Because a lot of torque can be applied a side handle is included to help the operator control the machine. The side handle can be rotated all the way around.
The machine looks the same as DP4002K and has an equally powerful motor, but has a higher gearing making it faster, but giving it less torque for really big holes.
The machine has a plastic body in the typical Makita teal color. The back of the body and handle covered in black rubber for better grip. On the front of the handle there is a black plastic variable speed trigger switch to activate the machine.
Under the trigger is a small black lever that works as a lock on switch. By flipping it downwards the machine will keep turning without needing to hold the trigger down.
On the bottom of the handle is a hole which can be used to hang the machine.
In front of the trigger switch is a switch to reverse the direction of rotation.
On top of the body is a black metal belt clip.
The front of the body where the gearbox is located and the side handle is attached is made out of aluminium.
The keyed metal chuck can take drill bits with a diameter of up to 13 mm.
The machine does not have a built in clutch.
