HP2010N 20mm 2 speed hammer drill

The HP2010N is a corded electric hammer drill manufactured by Makita.

The machine is powered by 730 watt brushed motor from an outlet. Depending on the region it is sold in the cord has an appropriate power plug and voltage rating for 120 and 230 volt outlets.

Exterior

The machine has a pistol grip and a body made out of "Makita teal" colored plastic.

The front gear housing is made out of aluminum and has a black auxiliary handle with a depth gauge that can be rotated all the way around and is secured with a wing nut.

At the very front is a metal keyed chuck with a black mode selector ring behind it.

Operation

The machine is activated by pressing the black variable speed trigger switch on the handle. Although not visible in the picture according to the manual there is a "speed control screw" integrated in the trigger switch.

Behind the trigger switch is a round black lock on button.

The direction of rotation can be reversed with a lever switch on the bottom side of the handle.

The gear can be changed with the sliding switch on the side of the gear housing where L stands for low and H for high gear.

The hammer action can be turned on and off with the action mode changing ring behind the chuck.
