6807 2 speed high torque screwdriver

Corded electric tools Drilling & fastening Power screwdriver

The 6807 is an corded electric screw driver manufactured by Makita. It is powered by a 500 watt brushed electric motor.

Exterior

The machine has a pistol shaped body with the handle in the back from where the power cord extends on the bottom.

The body is made out of "Makita teal" colored plastic with an black metal belt clip on top.

On the front is an aluminium gear housing with a threaded hole on each side where an auxiliary side handle can be screwed in.

On the bottom of the gear housing there is a knob to switch between low and high gear. At low gear the machine does 1100 RPM with more torque which is suitable for bigger screws in harder materials while at high gear the machine can drive in smaller screws in softer materials faster.

In front of the gear housing is a black locking sleeve which can be turned to adjust the depth of the screw.

At the very tip is the locator which tapers towards the front with a ring magnet at the very tip to hold a screw in place.

Operation

On front of the handle there is a black trigger switch to activate the machine. Behind it is a round black lock on button to keep the machine turning.

On top side of the trigger is a switch to reverse the direction of rotation.

To change a bit the locator has to be pulled out.

Clutch

The machine has a silent clutch which prevents screws from being over tightened as soon as the tip of the locator touches the work piece.
