5007FA 185mm circular saw

The 5007FA is a corded electric circular saw manufactured by Makita. The machine is powered by 1600 watt brushed motor from an outlet.

According to the product flyer there is an AC/DC switch for using the machine with alternative power sources.

Exterior

The machine has a plastic "Makita teal" colored body.

The base and blade guard are both made out of aluminium. On the front of the base there are markings that indicate where the cut is at 0º.

Above the markings is the angle adjustment up to 45º with black plastic wingnut for adjustment.

Behind the angle adjustment (not visible in picture) is an integrated light with two LEDs that illuminates the working area.

The motor housing has black round slotted covers that provide access to the motor brushes.

The machine is activated with a trigger switch on the handle and can then be pushed forward along the cut line.

The built in blower will activate at the same time for a clearer view of the cutting line.

The the edges of saw blade are guarded by a fixed magnesium blade cover on the top side.

On the bottom the cover will automatically retract when pushed against the work piece and spring back in place when done.

The 5007FA has an electronic brake which will stop the blade quicker when the trigger is released.
