N5900B 235mm circular saw

The Makita N5900B is a electric corded circular saw manufactured by Makita.

that has not changed much over the past decades. Makita has been producing this saw for over 30 years. The latest version has a more powerful 2000 watt motor.

The saw lacks modern features and materials of other saws on the market but Makita calls it a "real workhorse" that is durable, reliable and affordable.

Exterior

The machine body is made out of "Makita teal" colored plastic and has a handle on top with a trigger switch. The motor housing has black round slotted covers that provide access to the motor brushes.

The base is made out of black painted steel with wing nuts to adjust the angle and rip fence.

The saw blade is shielded with an aluminium cover on top with a handle attached to it. The bottom part of the saw blade is covered by a spring loaded retractable cover which has a metal lever to manually retract it.

Operation

The machine is activated with the trigger switch on the underside of the top handle.

To adjust the angle a wingnut at the front and back of the base needs to be loosened and tightened.
