LS0714 190mm slide compound miter saw

The LS0714 is corded electric slide miter saw manufactured by Makita.

It is powered by a 1010 watt brushed motor. Depending on the region it is sold in the cord has an appropriate power plug and voltage rating for 120 and 230 volt outlets.

It can cut up to 52 mm deep with a 190 mm saw blade. The saw blade can slide forward by pulling the handle to make cuts up to 300 mm long.

Exterior

The motor housing and a vertical handle are made out of "Makita teal" colored plastic. The top part of the blade guard and the base are made out of metal that is painted gray. The bottom part of the saw blade is retractable and made out of clear transparent plastic.

On the back side there is a black dust bag, a vacuum can also be attached for dust extraction.

On both sides supports can slide out to help keep long work pieces in place. There is also a vertical vice to help clamp down the work piece.

Operation

To activate the machine the lock button on top of the handle needs to be held down (with the thumb) while the trigger is being pushed (with the index finger).

If the machine is sold in Europe there is an additional lever blocking the trigger switch that needs to be be pushed left first.

At the front of the saw gutter there is a black handle that can be turned to adjust the mitre angle.
