2412 M12 13mm rotary hammer

Cordless Drilling & fastening M12 Rotary hammer

The 2412-20 is a compact cordless rotary hammer in the M12 battery system manufactured by Milwaukee. It is a specialized tool for drilling small holes up to 13 mm in concrete.

The machine has a brushed electric motor. It is slightly less powerful than the newer 2416-20 which has a brushless motor and is the only other M12 rotary hammer in Milwaukee's line up.

Exterior

The machine has a red plastic body with  black rubberized top and back side and handle. The handle is positioned towards the back and unlike many other M12 tools does not contain the battery.

Above the handle is a row of four LEDs on that act as a battery charge indicator. Milwaukee calls this the "fuel gauge".

The battery is inserted in a front handle that is rubberized on the front.

The machine has a gray gear housing with a mode selector dial on the side and an integrated LED that illuminates the working area on the front.

At the very tip is  black SDS Plus chuck.

Operation

The machine is activated by pulling the black variable speed trigger switch. The turning direction can be reversed with the button above it on each side.

With the dial of the gear housing the operator can select the work mode; which can be drilling (rotation only) and hammering plus drilling for hard masonry like concrete. The machine does not have a hammer only setting.
