EY9L53 18V 3.0 Ah battery

The EY9L53 is Lithium Ion battery pack for the 18 volt battery system from Panasonic.

The battery has a nominal voltage of 18 volts with a capacity of 3.0 Ah. Inside the battery pack are five Lithium Ion cells with a capacity of 3.0 Ah each.

On the page of the EY74A2 PN2G drill kit Panasonic claims this "P" battery is smaller and lighter, but it is unclear what the meaning of the letter "P" is and what battery Panasonic is comparing it to.

Exterior

The battery pack is box shaped with rounded edges. The contours of the 5 cylindrical cells are visible on rounded the protrusions on the side.

The battery pack has a black plastic casing with recessed electrical contacts and ventilation slits on top.

On the sides there is the gray text "P Li-ion 18v 3.0Ah PN".

The battery is designed to slide into the bottom of a power tool from the front to back.

At the front is a gray push button that releases a latch to release the battery from the tool body.
