EY4550X bow handle jig saw

The EY4550X is a cordless jig saw manufactured by Panasonic.

The "X" at the end of the model name indicates it is sold without battery and charger.

The machine has a brushless electric motor that is powered by a 18 volt battery.

The stated weight of 3.35 kilo is of the tool with one 18V 5.0 Ah battery inserted.

Panasonic does not specify the maximum recommended cutting depth for different materials.

Exterior

The machine has a D-shaped body with parts of it light gray and other parts black or covered in black rubber where the operator's hands are placed.

A black variable speed trigger switch is placed at the underside of the handle with a gray trigger lock button above it.

The battery ins inserted behind the handle and slides in from the top.

On the left side of the bottom, just in front of the battery is a membrane button with a light bulb icon to toggle the LED that illuminates the working area above the saw blade.

Above the saw blade is a gray lever that can be pulled to eject the saw blade.

On the left side there is a gray switch for the orbital actions. Panasonic states there is a "4 stage pendulum", but the first setting is having it disabled.

The machine has a built in blower function but no method for dust extraction.
