PABS 20-Li D4 cordless drill

The PABS 20-Li D4 is a cordless drill distributed under the Parkside brand.

The machine has a brushed electric motor that is powered by a X20V battery.

The weight of the machine was taken from the Dutch Lidl website.

Availability

In 2021 the machine was listed on the German distributor's website but had no price information.

In 2021 the Dutch online Lidl shop lists a drill without model number that looks exactly like the PABS 20-Li D4. At the moment of writing it was not in stock but according to the website it is expected to be available soon.

In 2022 a Parkside machine that looks exactly like the PABS 20-Li D4 was listed on Amazon.de, but the specific version name is not explicitly mentioned in the description.

Exterior

The machine has a dark green plastic housing with black rubberized parts around the handle and back.

It looks looks similar to its predecessor PABS 20-Li C3 but now features an all metal chuck and a larger clutch adjustment ring.

On the bottom of the handle a X20V battery attaches by sliding in from the front. A black metal belt clip can be attached on the left side.

On front of the handle is a red trigger switch with a black rubberized front. Above it is a push button to reverse the direction of rotation on each side.

On the left side of the housing is an integrated magnetic bit holder. On top of the housing is a red gear selector switch.

At the front is clutch setting ring with 25 settings plus a drill setting that disables the clutch. At the front is a black metal chuck with a maximum opening of 13 mm.

Just below the clutch adjustment ring is a white LED that illuminates the working area.

Operation

The machine works as a standard drill. It is activated by pressing the variable speed trigger switch. The push button above it can be used to reverse the turning direction or as a trigger lock when the button is centered.

The resistance of the clutch is adjusted with the ring behind the chuck.

The gear can be selected with the sliding switch on top of the body while it is not turning.
