PBP005 18V 4.0 Ah battery

The PBP005 is a 18 volt Lithium Ion battery pack in the 18V ONE+ HP system of Ryobi with a capacity of 4.0 Ampere hours.

The battery has a black plastic box shape. Unlike battery packs from other brands the leads are located on upright extension sticking up near the back making these battery packs bulkier than other systems.

On their website Ryobi claims this battery is "Compact and lightweight design" but does not specify the weight or dimensions. From the pictures the battery pack looks to be bigger and heavier than battery packs with a lower capacity and battery packs with similar capacity of other brands.

Inside the battery back are ten Lithium 18650 cells. On the front there is a green button which will activate the charge indicator which consists out of four green LEDs.

On the sides there are latches which have to be pressed to release the battery from the machine body it is inserted in.

The cells in this battery pack have a rated capacity of 2.0 Ampere hours.

This battery can be charged fully in 80 minutes.
