GST 120 BE bow handle jig saw

The GST 120 BE is a bow handle jig saw manufactured by Bosch.

The machine is powered by a 650 watt brushed electric motor from a power outlet.

Exterior

The body of the machine is made out of dark blue plastic with a distinctive blank aluminium front. The handle is positioned above the motor housing and has a black rubberized top and a red trigger switch on the underside.

At the front there is a black sliding lever to eject the saw blade without tools.

The tiltable base is made out of aluminium. A detachable vacuum adapter can be inserted on the back for dust extraction.

Operation

To turn the machine on a safety button on the handle has to be pressed before the trigger switch on the under side of bow handle can be pressed. The trigger switch is large enough for several fingers.

On the back there is a variable speed setting dial which can be used to set the number of strokes per minute from 500 to 2800.

On the side there is a four step orbital actions selector and a blower switch.

On the bottom there is a hex nut which has to be loosened to tilt the base up to 45º.

Transparent plastic anti splinter guards can be mounted in the base.
