The GST 85 PBE is a bow handle jig saw manufactured by Bosch.

The machine is powered by a 580 watt brushed electric motor from a power outlet. Although the motor is just as powerful as the GST 80 PBE the specifications state it can cut 5 mm thicker wood.

The machine can be activated with the trigger switch on the bottom side of the handle. There is also a red lock button that will keep the trigger pressed without a finger on it.

A speed setting dial is integrated in the trigger switch. The dial can be used to adjust the maximum strokes per minute between 500 and 3100.

On the right side there is a selector switch for up to three orbital actions for faster cutting in wood and a switch to turn on the blower function to clear saw dust away from around the saw blade.

A new feature of this saw is that the blade can be changed without any tools by pulling a cover piece on the top handle can upwards and turning it.

On the bottom there is a hex nut which has to be loosened to tilt the base up to 45º.

This machine has a distinctive aluminium front and cylindrical motor housing. On the right side there is also a non functional bulge which seems to be there because the same mold is used as for the GST 80 PE and GST 85 PBE barrel grip jig saws which have its power switch on that place.
