GAL 18V-40 compact battery charger
The GAL 18V-40 is a compact battery charger made by Bosch for 18 volt Bosch Professional batteries.
Bosch touts this charger as having a modern and very compact design. The design is very similar to the the GAL 12V-40 for 12V Max batteries. It is less high then other 18V chargers and more smooth surfaces without ventilation slits. Because of its lower charging than the fast chargers less heat is generated and there is less need for cooling.
Charging speed
The charger can charge up to 4 Ampere current. This means it can charge a 4.0 Ah battery to 100% in a little over an hour.

Exterior
The charger has a rectangular black plastic housing. The front half is sloped towards the front. The power cord is permanently attached on the back can be wrapped around the rear half and is kept in place by some cable guides near the back.
Near the front is a receptacle for a single battery that is inserted upside down. There is a red warning LED on the left and a green charging LED on the right.
It is possible to mount the charger on a wall with screws using screw mounts on the bottom, where there are also ventilation slits in the housing.
