WR18DBDL2Q4 18V cordless 1/2" impact wrench

18-36 multivolt Cordless Drilling & fastening Impact wrench

The WR18DBDL2Q4 is a cordless impact wrench sold in the USA under the Metabo HTP brand.

The tool has brushless electric motor powered powered by a 18 or 18/36 multivolt battery.

The "Q4" suffix in the model name indicates that it is sold as a bare tool without battery and charger.

The tool has a waterproof rating of IP56 which means it can withstand jets of water from any direction but cannot be submerged.

The impact driver has four selectable work modes that are referred to as "tightening modes" in the manual but since they can also be used for loosening we refer to them as work modes:

  1. Low: 1000 RPM
  2. Medium: 2000 RPM
  3. High: 2700 RPM
  4. Single: 2700 RPM

The last "single" mode is different than the other ones. In this mode the the machine will automatically stop after a few impacts; making it useful for delicate works on small screws (like M6) that just need to be tightened a little bit.

Exterior

The tool has a plastic green housing covered with black rubber around the handle, back and sides. The handle is placed in the middle under the motor for better tool balance.

The battery slides in on in from the front under the handle and there is an optional metal belt hook attached to the side with a screw.

At the top of the handle is a white LED that illuminates the working area. The LED can be set to on, off or automatic with a switch at the bottom of the handle.

In front of the motor housing is the hammer case of which the front seems to be covered in a black rubber.

At the very front there is the 1/2" square drive on which sockets can be attached. The driver has a friction ring and pin detent to prevent sockets from falling off.

Operation

The machine is activated by pressing the black variable speed trigger switch. Above it is a black push button on each side to reverse the turning direction.

On the bottom of in front of the handle there is a button to change the mode of the LED. At the side there is a switch to set the work mode.
