EY7950X hammer drill
The EY7950X is a cordless hammer drill manufactured by Panasonic.
The machine has a brushed electric motor powered by a 18 volt battery.
Panasonic does not list the weight of the bare tool, only with a battery.
Exterior
The machine has an all black color scheme. Some pictures on the internet show a machine with the same model number with a mixed light gray and black color scheme.
The overall appearance pf the tool is smooth and rounded with a curvature from the chuck extending all the way to the motor housing.
On the bottom of the handle a 18V battery attaches by sliding in from the front. Above the battery is a white LED that illuminates the working area.
Around the work light is a membrane button to toggle it on and off and an low battery indicator and an overheating warning indicator.
On front of the handle is a black trigger switch. Above it is a gray push button to reverse the direction of rotation on each side.
On top of the housing is a gear selector switch.
At the front is clutch setting ring with 18 settings plus a drill setting that disables the clutch. Behind it is a collar around which an auxiliary handle can be attached. At the front is a black chuck with a maximum opening of 13 mm.
Operation
The machine works as a standard drill. It is activated by pressing the variable speed trigger switch. The push button above it can be used to reverse the turning direction or as a trigger lock when the button is centered.
The resistance of the clutch is adjusted with the ring behind the chuck. The drill or hammer mode can be selected by turning the ring further so that the indicator triangle is aligned with the drill or hammer symbol.
The gear can be selected with the sliding switch on top of the body.
Variants
The machine body seems to be available in all black and one black/gray version.
