This product was marked as discontinued in 2021.

The PABS 14.4 A1 is a cordless drill distributed under the Parkside brand.

The machine has a brushed electric motor that is powered by a 14.4 volt battery. Although the product picture does not show any markings on the battery the user manual mentions it is compatible with X14.4V battery which seems to have been renamed to Max 16.0V.

The machine looks very similar to the PABS 20-Li A1 which uses a 18/20 volt battery/

The weight of the machine was not found online or in the user manual.

Availability

In 2021 the machine was listed on the German distributor's website but had no price information. It was not found in any of the online Lidl shops. For that reason it is marked as discontinued here.

Exterior

The machine has a sleek curved dark green plastic housing with black rubberized parts around the handle and back.

On the bottom of the handle a battery attaches by sliding in from the front. On the back there is an integrated bit holder.

On front of the handle is a red trigger switch with a black rubberized front. Above it is a push button to reverse the direction of rotation on each side.

On top of the housing is a red gear selector switch. On the back is a battery charge indicator and a push button to activate it.

At the front is clutch setting ring with 25 settings plus a drill setting that disables the clutch. At the front is a black plastic chuck with a maximum opening of 10 mm.

Just below the clutch adjustment ring is a white LED that illuminates the working area.

Operation

The machine works as a standard drill. It is activated by pressing the variable speed trigger switch. The push button above it can be used to reverse the turning direction or as a trigger lock when the button is centered.

The resistance of the clutch is adjusted with the ring behind the chuck.

The gear can be selected with the sliding switch on top of the body while it is not turning.
