C3607DAQ4 36V 185mm cordless circular saw

The C3607DAQ4 is a cordless circular saw sold in the USA under the Metabo HTP brand.

The saw has brushless electric motor powered by a 36 volt battery or the Multivolt AC-adapter.

The "Q4" suffix in the model name indicates that it is sold as a bare tool without battery and charger.

The C3607 was named the Best Cordless Circular Saw Overall in 2020 by Pro Tool Reviews.

The saw has a silent mode and power mode. In power mode the saw works just like any other saw and the blade will spin at full speed (4300 RPM) when activated. In silent mode the saw blade will spin at 2000 RPM when there is no load and gradually go up when more load is applied.

Exterior

The machine body is made out of green colored plastic with black rubber around the handles. There is a built in LED at the front.

The base is made out of aluminum with black metal quick release levers for adjusting the angle.

The saw blade is shielded with an aluminium cover on top. The bottom part of the saw blade is covered by a spring loaded retractable cover which has a black metal lever to manually retract it.

Operation

The saw is activated with a trigger switch on the underside of the handle. Before the trigger an be pressed a lock button positioned above it on the side of the handle has to be pushed in.

Under the trigger is a button panel with buttons to toggle the silent mode and built in lamp.

Safety

The saw has a soft start feature to reduce chances of kickback. It has an electric brake that will stop de blade more quickly when the trigger is released.

The machine also has overload and overheating protection and will shut itself down if the saw blade suddenly slows down or when when a temperature sensor detects that the motor is getting too hot.
