18-36 multivolt Cordless Recipro saw Sawing

The CR36DAQ4 is a cordless reciprocating saw sold in the USA under the Metabo HTP brand.

The saw has by a brushed motor powered by a 18 or 18/36 multivolt battery.

The "Q4" suffix in the model name indicates that it is sold as a bare tool without battery and charger.

Exterior

The machine has a black curved ergonomic shaped body with a soft green rubberized D-handle at the back. The battery is placed under the handle.

In front of the handle (not visible in picture) is a battery charge status button and indicator.

On the side of the body there the brand "Metabo HTP" is printed, right next to to it is a round black slotted cover that provides access to the motor brushes.

At the very front there is  LED to illuminate the working area.

Operation

The machine is activated with the black variable speed trigger switch on the handle.

There is a trigger lock button above it that needs to be pressed in on the left side to unlock the trigger and pressed in on the other side to lock it.

The blade can be changed without tools by turning a spring loaded lever with an arrow on the side of the blade holder.

The shoe can be adjusted with the included 4 mm hex wrench by loosening a screw on the underside of the body.
