Cordless Alliance System

0 products

CAS stands for Cordless Alliance System and is a battery system for 18 volt Litium Ion battery packs for power tools that works across several different brands.

The system was introduced in the year 2020 and is based on Metabo's 18 volt battery system.

When bought with a power tool CAS Batteries have the logo and branding of the tool, but also have the CAS logo on it to indicate that they are compatible with other brands.

Compatibility

If a brand uses CAS it is no guarantee that all their power tools are compatible with it. Each individual tool should be checked for compatibility.

Since the system is based on Metabo's 18 volt system it means that 18 volt Metabo batteries and tools introduced as early as 2009 are compatible with CAS but do not have the CAS branding if they were manufactured before 2020.

Buyers should be aware that Metabo HTP is not the same as Metabo and its 18-36 multivolt battery system is different and incompatible with CAS.

Brands

In 2021 the following brands were using CAS. Many of the brands are of German origin. Metabo has by far the most machines using it. Most other brands make specialized equipment and only have a few cordless power tools in their assortment.
