Bosch Bosch Professional 10.8 volt
The Bosch Professional 10.8 volt battery system that was introduced in the year 2005 and is the name that was previously used for the 12V Max battery system in some parts of the world.
Renaming
Bosch announced that the 12V Max product name would be adopted worldwide starting from January 2017 onwards.
In North America the 12V name was already used, and in Europe all existing products were renamed, and new products only released under the 12V Max name.
However in 2021 the 10.8 volt name was still used in regions like South Korea. The South Korean website shows 10.8 volt and 12V as two separate systems. The GSR 12V-35 FC that was introduced in 2020 is called the GSR 10.8V-35 FC. Some of the products that have 10.8V in their name have pictures that show a 12V marking on it.
Not all 10.8V products were renamed. Some products like the GBA 10.8V 1.3 Ah battery were discontinued before 2017 and were never released with a new name.
